Good to know
Frequently asked
Short answers to the questions we hear most. The Plan Your Safari guide has the detail.
Plan Your SafariI am a first-time hunter. Is that okay?
Absolutely. First-time hunters are welcome, and our professional hunters teach as they guide.
Can non-hunters and families come?
Yes. Partners, families and observers are welcome, with day experiences such as nature drives, fishing and cultural visits.
What hunting methods do you use?
Walk-and-stalk and spot-and-stalk, always fair chase.
Which species can I hunt?
Plains game plus buffalo. Every species and trophy fee is in the 2026 price list on our Hunting Safaris page, and we confirm the details in your proposal.
Can I hunt several species?
Yes, combination hunts are the norm.
How do I get there?
Fly into O.R. Tambo, Johannesburg. Then take a private charter to our airstrip (about 1h30, up to 7 passengers), or fly to Kimberley (about 1.5 hours) and take a private transfer (about 1h20, vehicle seats 9).
What about firearm permits?
Bringing your own rifle needs a SAPS 520 temporary import permit, and we help you with it. You can also hire rifles and ammunition here.
What should I pack?
We send a full list when you book. The essentials: neutral clothing, broken-in boots, a hat, sunscreen, binoculars and your medication.
What is the climate like?
Semi-arid, with warm to hot days and cool mornings. May to August is cold at night and November to February is hot, so bring layers.
Is there Wi-Fi?
Yes, at the lodge. It is patchy out in the field.
